While most families were out celebrating Father’s day last Sunday, some families spent their evening at TWICELAND ZONE 2: FANTASY PARK together with Twice.
FANTASY PARK is Twice’s second world tour and it also marks the South Korean girl group’s second time in Singapore.
The evening kicked off with the nine members making a grand entrance as princesses of TWICELAND, effectively setting the theme from the beginning. They spared no efforts in bringing FANTASY PARK to life, from their elaborate white gowns to descending from the sky on swings to dance performances (that mimic those of a circus) to playful illustrations on the screens.
They quickly launched into a string of their most popular tunes, including debut song Ooh Ahh!, Cheer Up and Likey. During a break to catch their breaths and to properly greet ONCEs (they briefly greeted everyone in the beginning), leader Jihyo shared how happy they are to be able to meet everyone in a bigger venue. Youngest member Tzuyu spoke a little in Mandarin, much to the delight of everyone. Nayeon also gave laughter when she tried to speak English by repeating after the translator.
Twice put in a lot of effort to interact with ONCEs as much as possible, at one point even making their fans guess the songs that they will be performing! They also walked around with cameras on selfie sticks, a segment where the live footage is shown on the screens.
It was soon time for the special stages, where they performed cover songs, including BoA’s VALENTI and WINNER’s Really Really. They also prepared individual performances, during which the girls are able to showcase different sides of themselves.
Dahyun went with a cover of Rain’s Rainism, changing it to Dahyunism and showcasing the showmanship that she is known and loved for. Jihyo, Momo and Tzuyu took over the stage with a glamorous presence, performing Beyonce’s End Of Time. Nayeon and Jeongyeon decided to keep things light and fun with My Ear Candy, a duet by label-mate 2PM’s Taecyeon and Back Jiyoung. Lastly, the trio of Mina, Sana and Chaeyeong performed WAX’s Oppa.
The concert came to an end after more performances, including an acoustic version of What Is Love, but not without a surprise from their Singaporean ONCEs!
Their dedicated fans prepared a video for them, expressing their love and support and also congratulating them on their second world tour. It brought the girls close to tears, with Jihyo taking the lead to thank ONCEs for waiting for them, saying that she understands it is not easy to do so when they are far away from each other.
The girls of Twice also promise that they will be back again in Singapore when they are on their third world tour. They also don’t forget to thank the staff for making the concert possible.
The night concludes with Twice’s routine photo time with ONCEs and with a medley of their popular tracks.
We would like to again thank ONE Production for extending an invitation to JAPARANG.
