[FASHION] “WEAR YOUR WORLD.” Theme of UNIQLO 2018 Spring/Summer UT Collection

Unique new designs celebrate a dazzling array of authentic pop culture from around the world the world from Disney’s MICKEY ART to Japan’s Weekly Shonen Jump 50th

March 23, 2018, SingaporeUNIQLO today announces its 2018 Spring/Summer UT (UNIQLO TShirt) collection, whose numerous items feature carefully selected examples of authentic pop culture graphics from around the world. Under the theme of “WEAR YOUR WORLD,” rollouts began in late January and will continue through Q3 this year. Items are available at selected UNIQLO stores and online at www.uniqlo.com/sg. The UT line transforms T-shirts into canvases of art expressing the individuality and tastes of wearers. Offering something for everyone, the range continues to evolve as part of the LifeWear commitment to quality and comfort.

Key Categories for 2018 Spring/Summer:

■Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump
This special collaboration celebrates Japan’s best-selling and one of its longest-running manga magazines by showcasing designs from series that have been particularly popular among readers. They range from Dragon Ball, Captain Tsubasa, Knights of the Zodiac (Saint Seiya), and YuYu Hakusho to One Piece, Naruto, and BLEACH. The designs in this collection feature original illustrations and iconic scenes and are sure to please fans of the perennially beloved Weekly Shonen Jump. They will be launched progressively from April onwards through the season.

■Special UTs featuring world-famous examples of Japanese pop culture
The latest range showcases international iconic examples of Japanese culture. New designs feature IPPUDO and Hokkaido Ramen Santoka, two chains renowned domestically and internationally as purveyors of ramen, a Japanese soul food staple. Another exciting design this year is from Karacho, founded in 1624. The atelier is the sole remaining producer from the Edo Period of Kyoto karakami. These are traditional patterns on beautifully crafted paper from magnolia printing blocks, long used in sliding doors and folding screens.

■New contents featuring examples of some of the world’s most beloved art and culture
The UT range this year showcases Sanderson, an iconic British soft furnishing brand that has long held a Royal Warrant and is renowned for its elegant floral designs imbued with prestige and traditional beauty. The UNIQLO SPRZ NY highlights work by Barry McGee, an iconic and influential artist from San Francisco.

■More from the MAGIC FOR ALL collaboration collection with Disney
UNIQLO continues to offer graphics through MAGIC FOR ALL, a global collaboration with Disney Consumer Products that adds a touch of Disney enchantment, Marvel action, Star Wars adventure, and Pixar creativity to everyday LifeWear fashions. Debuting in this year’s collaboration would be MICKEY ART, featuring unique renderings of the beloved Disney character from such 6 renowned artists and illustrators as Kevin Lyons and Mike Mills. Other exclusives from this special collaboration with Disney includes MICKEY & THE SUN, featuring the world’s favourite mouse enjoying another great day.
